Windross Farm is a spectacular golf course located only 30 minutes south of the Auckland CBD.

Designed by Brett Thomson, of RBT Design, with course consultant Phil Tataurangi in 2011, the course is known for its challenging degrees of interest. The layout is a traditional par 72, with returning 9’s of par 36. Each nine consists of two par 3’s, five par 4’s and two par 5’s. The par 3’s are designed to play in all directions of the compass while the par 5’s have been designed with the prevailing wind in mind. It is intended that the 2nd is a three shot hole for most players, the 15th and 18th being of medium length and the 14th a short par 5 that will entice most to attempt reaching the green in two shots. The downwind 15th plays as a drivable par 4 for those wishing to attempt it.

Apart from the undulating greens, 38 bunkers and minimal tree presence, the major feature of the course is the water in its many forms with four large lakes interlaced with numerous burns (streams) threading their way in and out of impressive, yet imposing, wetland areas.

It is a course that can be challenging or challenged by any level of player on every hole and every shot.

Titirangi is the only golf course in New Zealand where Dr. Alister MacKenzie worked his genius (this is the same man who created such golfing masterpieces as the Augusta National, Cypress Point and the Royal Melbourne).

The course has evolved since 1927, but MacKenzie’s vision lives on with the Club staying true to the MacKenzie principles of design meaning the course offers a blend of opportunities, challenges, risks and rewards at every hole. No two holes are the same. And every round offers a fresh set of challenges – and the exhilaration that comes with them.

Titirangi Golf Club is recognised around the world as being among the best New Zealand has to offer. It is a Marquee Course, one of only fourteen such courses throughout the country.

Titirangi has hosted more professional and amateur events than most other courses in New Zealand. Champions have played here including Peter Thomson, Bob Charles, Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer and Arnold Palmer. Titirangi is a member’s club with a cherished sense of history that stretches back to its very beginnings over 100 years ago.

Experience that history and the skill of Alister MacKenzie when you play a round at the Titirangi Golf Club. Golfing heaven for keen golfers at any level.
