New Zealand is just a short three hours from Sydney or Melbourne, an easy 12 hour overnight flight from Los Angeles, and up to 25 hours from Europe with the opportunity to enjoy a stopover in Hawai’i, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Dubai or Singapore.

Auckland’s international and domestic airports are located in Manukau City, around a 45 minute drive from downtown Auckland. There are a range of direct flights and low cost flares available so we encourage you to explore all the options available.

Climate and Dress Code

Between May and September, the ‘cold weather’ months in New Zealand, you will need warm clothing for the days, evenings and nights. In the North Island, generally the slightly warmer of the two main islands, temperatures in May can drop to 9-110C even in the Bay of Islands.

Delegates are strongly advised to secure appropriate travel and health insurance. Delegate registration fees do not provide any insurance coverage. The Organising Committee and the Congress Office accept no responsibility for any loss in this regard.

The official language of the Congress is English.

Time Zone

New Zealand is one of the first places in the world to see the new day, 12 hours ahead of GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). In summer, New Zealand uses ‘Daylight Saving’, with clocks put forward one hour to GMT +13. Daylight saving begins on the last Sunday in September and ends on the first Sunday of the following April, when clocks are put back to GMT+12.
