Invitation from the Convenor
On behalf of the Organising Committee, it is my great pleasure to invite you to the RANZCP 2018 Congress: Becoming well together: Partnerships in mental health, Ngā hononga ō te hauora hinengaro.
Congress is being hosted in Auckland from the 13 -17 May and will explore and examine the many interconnecting partnerships essential to the practice of modern psychiatry. A diverse and fascinating array of international and national plenary speakers will open streams of research and practice, giving attendees the opportunity to explore areas of interest in-depth. The program will reach from cutting edge benchside science to expert knowledge developed from experience. This will be aimed at addressing the question: How do we work in partnerships to improve the wellbeing of our communities?
Alongside the extensive and thought-provoking scientific program our social program will provide many opportunities to come together as a community. The Welcome Reception will showcase the splendid Auckland waterfront and the Gala Dinner gives us the opportunity to enjoy true New Zealand hospitality. This program gives us the opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and make new connections.
For trainees, there is the opportunity to meet new peers, extend learning and meet senior national and international clinicians and researchers. For our colleagues outside the discipline of psychiatry, Congress offers the chance to meet with and connect to us; elements this Congress recognise as critical for psychiatry moving forward.
It is our pleasure to welcome you to New Zealand for the RANZCP 2018 Congress. We are sure this will be a memorable Congress and encourage you to take this opportunity to enjoy and explore all New Zealand has to offer.
